Wrinkles Make You Miserable

As the time passes away, a number of changes appear on your face.  We didn’t take entirely this phenomenon as age factor; it may be somewhat your negligence. Particularly, if you are not giving time to moisturizing, applying creams to avoid wrinkles and unwanted spots, a major harm can come to your skin, specially when wrinkles come to your face at various spots such as under your eyes, at the edge of you eyes, at the edge of your lips and on your neck, you become miserable. Here are some other causes which may spoil your face, such as overuse of facial muscles.

Remember, not all wrinkles are created equal. Some-like the sag lines caused when gravity pulls your brows or jowls down-can’t really be prevented. But other wrinkles are not so inevitable. By changing a few bad habits, you may be able to forestall some major furrows.

One of the most common types of wrinkles on your face is expression lines-such as frown lines between the brows-caused by continual overuse of the same facial muscles. Most women aren’t aware when, or how much, they’re using those facial muscles.

The constant use of other muscles in your body would tone the area, but not so much on your face. Expression lines deepen when you use facial muscles, because the muscles of your face attach to your skin, while every other place in the body, muscles attach to the bone so, whenever you’re frowning or smiling, you’re also pulling at your skin. That pulls and bunches up the skin and eventually leads to furrows.

Everyday facial tension is a prime factor in the creation of expression lines. Most of us don’t realize when we raise our brows when our face is tensed. So we rarely think to consciously relax our facial muscles. And it doesn’t take a particularly stressful incident to make us tighten up those facial muscles in the first place. Simple eyestrain, talking, being outside with sunglasses that provide inadequate protection, or just concentrating can cause us to frown or squint without realizing it.

What can you do to prevent or help ease expression lines? First, you have to learn to be conscious of the muscle tone in your face; one way to do this is to keep a mirror by the telephone. While you’re talking, watch the faces you make and you’ll learn how these faces feel ‘on the inside’ when you make them.

Relaxation exercises can help ease the strain on your facial muscles, once you know how the muscles of your face feel when they’re tensed, you can teach yourself to systematically relax them so that they feel heavy and warm. Concentrate on keeping your muscles relaxed for five minutes.

What about facial exercises? Because the muscles of your face attach to skin, most facial exercises are not worthwhile. What facial exercises do is basically re-create the same pulls that you’re trying to undo.

A facial massage would be a better idea. Massages are fine if they’re gentle. They feel good and can help you to relax, which is great. But massage won’t undo lines that have already formed.

What massage, like relaxation techniques, can help you do is to prevent lines if you don’t already have them. And perhaps ease some of the existing expression lines so they’re less noticeable. Nothing short of cosmetic surgery can actually undo deep lines.

Here are three quick tips on wrinkle control:

*Sleep on your back. Pillows or the mattress can cause creases on your face as well as a general tugging on your skin.

*Use a moisturizer. It won’t remove wrinkles. But because dry skin looks more lined, a moisturizer can make lines appear less noticeable.

*Wear sunscreen daily. If you go outdoors at all, wearing a sunscreen helps you avoid leathery skin and creepy wrinkles caused by photo-aging.
